Half a day
Tuesday - Sunday
11 am - 5 pm
Your mouth is watering during your visit, which is why The Old Bakery is ‘the tastiest museum in the Netherlands’ for 30 years! There are daily cake, marzipan, chocolate and other demonstrations. Techniques that often cannot be seen anywhere else in The Netherlands.
The children can continuously participate in activities, for example decorating a cake.
The collection includes the heritage that has been preserved from the trade of the Dutch and West Frisian bakery and confectionery and mainly over the period 1800-1960. The preservation of these collections is not only the preservation of knowledge about the baker’s profession, but also the preservation of knowledge about socio-economic life from the past, which is described and explained on the basis of the objects.
